Custom Packages Available
Your needs may not be met by one of the packages above. This is a good opportunity for us to meet, go over your individual needs and budget. We've never had to turn a client away because we couldn't make a deal!
A La Carte:
8.5"x11" Spiral-Bound Proofbook: In my opinion, these are a waste of your money. They're only intended to show all the photos taken from the event in order to make it easier to choose which photos to get "real" prints of. Online photo galleries make this obselete. If you must have one, you can fit up to 20 photos/page for only $3/page.
Parent's Album : These are really cool mini versions of the large coffeetable-style albums, square format, one photo-per page. 7"x7" is the standard size but others are available. Each page has two sides/photos. 20 pages for $150. 40 pages for $250. 60 pages for $350.
Extra Photographic Coverage : If you got one of the basic packages that don't include full-event coverage, each extra hour will cost $200.
Travel Fees : There may be travel fees associated with events outside a 75 mile radius of San Jose, CA.
High-Resolution Buyout: Purchase the hi-res "digital negative" source images and gain reproduction rights. This is the lifeblood for most full-time photographers, so it's not cheap! DVD transfer restricted to three months after the event. Apply this to any wedding package for only $500.
Engagement Photo Session: Up to two hours at your location of choice. You receive one 16"x20" print for display at your wedding plus all images online for only $400.
F.A.Q.
1. How big are the albums / how many pages? All albums can contain anywhere from 20 to 80 pages, in 10 page increments. My standard "Bride & Groom" album is 10" x 10" and my standard "Parent's" Album is 7" x 7". They are both hardcover book-bound with the choice of glossy or varnish/matte pages inside. Note: You don't have to get a 7x7 album for your parents – if you want a duplicate of the B&G album that is always an option at an additional cost. I use Asuka Books for most of my albums, although I can use any vendor you like if you have your heart set on a particular style/brand; Cost will vary appropriately.
2. How many photos in the album? A good method to decide on the number of photos is take the page count of the album and multiply by 3. So, a 40 page album can be nicely designed with 120 photos. There's definitely wiggle room, but it's a good place to start. " Parent's Albums" are 7" x 7" and have one photo per page, so that makes it pretty easy to figure out.
3. Who chooses the photos for the album? This is the most challenging part of the process, and usually where things lag. I *could* choose all the photos, but I find when the clients choose, they usually aren't the ones I would pick – I'm coming from a purely artistic side whereas you would pick based on who's in the photo, etc. For now, I prefer that you choose the photos for said albums (unless you really don't want to!)
4. How do I tell you which photos I want? There's really no super-easy way to do this – especially when you're dealing with 1,000 edited images. The way that's worked for me is I will send you a disc of all the photos [low-res or hi-res, depending on our contract] to make it easy and quick for you to view on your computer. Then I ask that you create an excel spreadsheet where you can copy/paste the filenames [ex: DSC2942]. I recommend using multiple worksheets in one excel document [those little tabs on the bottom left] to keep track of your print order, album & parent album photo choices.
5. When will we receive the album? Once you've supplied me with your choices for your album, I need about three weeks to turn a proof around to you. This proof is in the form of an Acrobat PDF file that I email or post online for you to download. After you receive the proof, you may have some changes. Once I receive your changes, I will have a new PDF proof sent to you within a couple of days. Once you give final approval to the album design, I will send it to the printer. Approximately 4-6 weeks later the album is shipped to me (can be longer, especially during the holidays), at which point I make sure it meets my standards before I notify you. I prefer to present the album in person, but if needs be I can ship it to you. Parent Album(s) are quicker to design than the B&G album as there is only one photo per page, but the printing turnaround is the same.
6. What about the individual prints? I offer almost any print size you can think of – from 4"x6" up to 30"x40" and beyond. They are professionally printed at a lab on the east coast on lustre-finished paper, which is a beautiful combination of gloss and matte that you have to touch to truly appreciate. I can also do wrapped canvas prints, metallic paper, or any kind of exotic requirements you may have. Typically the prints I include in my wedding packages are a combination of 4x6, 8x10 and 16x20. Refer to your contract for specific details on what you are entitled to. Once you've given me the excel file with your print choices & sizes I can submit the order within a couple of days (I usually tweak some of the photos before sending them off). The turnaround, including shipping, is around 10 days. If I have your address they will be shipped directly to you. As always, you and any friends and family can order additional prints from my website www.goodeyephotography.com |
